Adeline, daughter of Herman and Edith Helms, was born in Marion, Wisconsin on July 10, 1910. She graduated from the Marion High School in Wisconsin and attended the Waukon Junior College, in Waukon, Iowa in Allamakee County. In 1929, she married Earl Redman. They lived in Shawano, and Oconto Falls, Wisconsin until Earl was transferred to South Carolina where they had lived since. Adeline was a member of the St. Stephan's Lutheran Church in Lexington, South Carolina and its church circles. Adeline died Wednesday, February 10, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl who died in 1986; 1 daughter, Karen Caughman; a daughter-in- law, Alice Redman; a grandson; 2 brothers, Stanley Helms and Harold Helms; and a sister, Hazel Leschensky. Adeline is survived by 2 sons, Earl Redman, Jr. of Brunswick, Maine, and Jerry (Judy) Redman of Lexington, South Carolina; 1 sister, Jeanette Bigelow of Waukon, Iowa; nephews and nieces, one of them, Kay (Bigelow) Mentzer Sewick of Waukon, Iowa. Additional Comments: The obituary did not state the place of burial. Researchers might want to seek more information on the state of Wisconsin and Iowa websites for further information on the family. I do know that there were Leschensky families who also lived in Waukon, Iowa in addition to the Bigelow families.
