Wheeler Esq. Ordinary. Whereas, Herrod Stackhouse made suit to me to grant him Letters of Administration of the Estate and Effects which were of Lydia Hamilton late of this District Dec’d. These are to cite and admonish all and singular the kindred and creditors of the said Lydia Hamilton deceased, that they be and appear before me, in the Court of Ordinary, to be held at Marion CHouse on Friday next, after publication hereof, to shew cause, if any they have, why the said Administration should not be granted. Given under my hand and seal, this 29th day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven and in the [“Forty” is struck through] 51st year of the American Independence. Wheeler Ordinary M.D. THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, ) Marion [“Chesterfield” is struck through] District.) Know all men by these Presents, That we Herrod Stackhouse, David S. Harllee & Thomas Harllee are holden and firmly bound unto Edw’d B Wheeler Esq. Ordinary for the aforesaid district, in the full and just sum of five hundred Dollars to be paid to the said Edw’d B Wheeler Ordinary or to his successors. Ordinaries of this district, or their certain Attorney or assigns. To which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, and every of us, our and every of our heirs, executors and administrators, for the whole, and in the whole, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated the twentieth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven and in the [“forty-“ is struck through] 51st year of American Independence. The condition of the above Obligation is such, that if the above bound Herrod Stackhouse Administrator of the goods, chattels, and credits of Lydia Hamilton deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge, of the said Herrod or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for h__ and the same so made, do exhibit into the said Court of Ordinary, when he shall be thereunto required, and such goods, chattels and credits do well and truly administer according to law, and do make a just and true account of his actings and doings therein, when required by the said court; and all the rest of the said goods, chattels and credits, which shall be found remaining upon the account of the said administration, the same being first allowed by the said court, shall deliver and pay unto such persons respectively as are entitled to the same by law; and if it shall hereafter appear, that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased, and the same be proved in court, and the executors obtain a certificate of the probate thereof, and the said Herrod do in such case, if required, render and deliver up the said letters of administration, then this obligation to be void, or else to remain in full force. Wheeler Ordinary Est of Lydia Hamilton Recorded Account of the appraisement of the personal Estate of Lydia Hamilton Dec’d 1 Cow & Yearling at Henry Hamiltons supposed to be worth $10— 3 Cows & 3 yr old Heiffer (sic) & Yearligs (sic) at John Hamiltons valued at the supposed value at $37.00 The cattle as above stated we did not see but we suppose the value as stated – May 5th 1827 D.S. Harllee Tristram Stackhouse his Robert X Taylor mark Lydia Hamilton Estate We the undersigned appraisers appointed to appraise the Lands of the Estate of Lydia Hamilton Dec’d do appraise the Lands as follows Lot No. 1 containing Three Hundred Acres we value at One Hundred Twenty Dollars. Harllee Sheriff of said District you are hereby authorized and Empowered to advertise and Sell on the 4th June next all the Lands belonging to the said Lydia Hamilton Dec’d on the following Conditions for one half of the amt of the purchase money on a credit until the first day of January 1828 for the ballance (sic) on a credit until the first Jany 1829 with Interest from the Date Purchasers Giving notes [hole in paper the size of one word] approved Security and a mortgage of the premises if deemed necessary Given under my hand this 8th May A.D. 1827 Edward B.
