Cox MARION – William Henry Cox, 61, retired merchant of Marion, died Sunday morning in a Marion hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at Smith Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Cox was born in Atlanta, son of the late William H. and Dora Francis de Ramus Cox. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marion and the Marion Masonic Lodge, and the Omar Shrine Temple. He was a former member of the Lions Club and was a member of the Uncle Charlies Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Clemson University. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Esslie Lacy Cox of Marion; a daughter, Mrs. James C. Carroll of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Cox James and Mrs. Sara Cox Moffett, both of Marion; a granddaughter; two nephews and a niece.
