“Jerry L. Smith
Marion – Jerry L. Smith, 67, a Marion merchant, died Monday in a local hospital 
after a short illness.
   Funeral services will be conducted at 5:30 P.m. Tuesday at Richardson’s 
Funeral Home by the Rev. M. L. Meadors Jr.  Burial will be in Rose Hill 
cemetery.
   Mr. Smith was born in Marion County, a son of the late Reddin Smith and Addie 
Lambert Smith of Marion.  He was a veteran of World War I serving in the Navy.
   Surviving are two step-sons, J. D. Hyatt of Marion and Jack Hyatt of Dillon; 
a sister, Mrs. Albert H. (Hallie) Powell of Marion; four brothers, Rupert W. 
Smith, Earl L. Smith, Reddin L. Smith and Lawrence A. Smith, all of Marion.”
