Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Carol Boykin 29 Nov 97 ---------------------------------------- State of South Carolina Know all men by these presents that I Mills Boykin of Marlborough County and state aforesaid planter for an in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars to me paid by Lamuel Boykin of the county of Richmond and state in South Carolina have granted, bargained, sold and released, and by these presents do grant; bargain, sell and release, unto the said Lamuel Boykin his heirs and Assigns forever, a certain part or parcel of Land, containing seventy-nine acres more or less lying in the County aforesaid N.E. of Great Pee Dee, on the Reddy branch, being Tract of Land which was granted to the said Mills Boykin by Pinckney, and is laid out as Follows(Viz) Beginning at a Lightwood stake and running to a lightwood stake, Garners corner. Thence along William Listers line to a pine corner, thence along Thos Listers line to a pine, a corner tree thence along the said William Listers line to the Reddy Branch. Thence across the said branch running with McAlisters line to a stake corner, thence direct to the beginning for seventy nine acres be the same more or less. Together with all and singular, the rights members Hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining to have & to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned to the said Lamuel Boykin, his heirs Executors and Administrators to warrant and forever, defend all and singular the said premises to the said Lamuel Boykin, his heirs and assigns, against myself and my heirs, and against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Witness my hand and seal this fourth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven and in the twenty first year of the Independence of America.
