Marlborough District

Know all men by these presents that I William LISTER of the Marlborough 
district and State aforesaid in consideration of one Hundred Dollars to me paid 
by David MONTGOMERY of the District aforesaid have Granted Bargained Sold & 
Released & by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell & (?Tikngurols?) unto the 
said David MONTGOMERY a certain piece parcel or dividend of land containing 
thirty one acres ( be the same more or less), it being part of a tract of two 
hundred & fifty acres of land originally granted to John STUBBS by his 
Excellency William BULL Esq. Governor of SC, the grant being Dated the 21st day 
of April 1774. The thirty one acres more or less, hereby conveyed is laid off 
as follows (vis, beginning at a station white oak on the side of Burrley Mill 
Creek from thence running NE 33.00 8 chains up P (or S.) Creek to a small 
hickory marked 3X thence S.E. 45.00 (?It) go through the old muster field to a 
station on the S.E. line of Sd tract thence with Sd. Lines S.W. 45  6. 66 to a 
pine marked 3X thence to the beginning for the complement of thirty one Acres 
more or less Including the plantation whereon I now live the same was granted 
to me by a deed of Bargain Sale bearing Date the 29 day of October 1804 
Together with all singular the rights members Hereditaments and appurtenances 
to the Sd. premises belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining.  To have 
& to hold all & singular the premises before mentioned unto the Sd. David 
MONTGOMERY his Heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby myself my heirs 
Executors and Administrator to warrant & forever defend all & singular this and 
primacies against myself & my heirs & against all & every person or persons 
whomsoever Lawfully Claiming Sd. To Claim the same or any part there of.  
Witness my Hand & seal this Eleventh day of January in the year of our Lord one 
Thousand Eight hundred and Ten.

William PLIDGER one of the Justices of the Quorum do hereby Certify to all whom 
it may concern that Marah LISTER the wife of within named William LISTER did 
this day appear before me and when being privately and separately Examined by 
me did declare that she does Truly Voluntarily and without
