All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/sc/scfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Kay Jorgensen kay_jorgensen@jorgfe.com May 2, 2011, 3:00 pm Marlborough District Written: March 26, 1817 Recorded: 1817 State of South Carolina) Know all Men by the4se presents that I Charles MANSHIP of Marlborough District and State aforesaid Planter, in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and twenty three Dollars and ninety three cents to me paid by David MONTGOMERY of the State and district aforesaid Merchant have granted bargained, Sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain, Sell and release unto the said David MONTGOMERY all that Tract of Land containing one hundred and fifty acres situate in the district aforesaid N.E. of great Pee Dee river near the Beaver dam Creek bounded (when granted) S.E. on Jesse BETHEAR, N.W. on Jonathan MARIANS, N. E. on Moses PARKER, & S. W. on Vacant Lands the same being the whole of that Tract of One hundred and fifty Acres of Land granted to William EASTERLING by his Excellency Thomas PINCKNEY Esquire Governor & Commissioner in chief in & over the said State, the Grant bearing date the seventh day of January Anno Domine One thousand seven hundred and eighty eight the same was conveyed by the said William EASTERLING to Aaron MANSHIP by deed bearing date the first day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine Part of the same fell to me by the last will of my Father Aaron MANSHIP, deceased, the other part was deeded to me by brother George MANSHIP by deed bearing date the twentieth day of September one thousand eight hundred and three including the plantation I live on. Also three acres and a third of one acre, joining the above mentioned land, being a part of a four hundred acres which was granted to Thomas LEHRIE (?SEHRIE) & was deeded by Job INSLY to my Father Aaron MANSHIP by deed bearing date the seventh day of February one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven. Marked out as follows Beginning at a pine on the first line of Sd four hundred Acre Tract near the Lower corner of Sd. Aaron MANSHIPS field fence new marked 3 Chaps then with a line of marked Trees the course of and running with the fence across to and until it intersects the second line of sd. Four hundred acres Tract. Also Eighty Acres of Land situate Joining the above mentioned three hundred Acre Tract, and on Beaver dam Creek containing Eighty Acres of Land more or less, which was conveyed by Moses PARKER, Senior to my Father Aaron MANSHIP by deed bearing date the fifteenth day of August one thousand seven hundred and ninety four being part of a tract of Land which was granted Richard ODOM by his Excellency William BULL Esqr. Governor SC. The Grant bearing date the tenth day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy three and was transferred to said Moses PARKER by John HAWTHORN by deed of bargain & sale bearing date the first day of February one thousand seven hundred and Seventy Seven. The said Eighty Acres (more or less) hereby bargained & sold to said David MONTGOMERY being all that part of Sd. Tract which lyeth on the South ward side of Beaver dam Creek accd. Is hereby deeded to said MONTGOMERY as it was by Sd. PARKER to my Father, the Beaver dam Run to be the line between Moses PARKER & Sd. MONTGOMERY as by the deed it was between Sd. PARKER and my Father for Eighty Acres be the same more or less. The above mentioned Tract and parts of Tracts together containing in the whole two hundred and thirty three acres & a third of an Acre of Land more or less. Together with all and Singular (page 262) The rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining To have and to hold all and singular the said premises unto the said David MONTGOMERY his Heirs and Assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself my heir, Executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises against myself and my heirs and against all and every person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventeen and in the forty first year of the independence of the United States of America.
