Gentlemen, An indent and Special Certificate for a year's interest due me for my accot. Against the publick lodged in your office, please deliver to Major John Thompson Green and his receipt for the same shall be your sufficient discharge for the same. George Town Francis Green 17 Augst. 1784 Edward Blake & Peter Boquet Commissioners of The Public Treasury, Charleston Certify that the above order was given in My presence. P. Horry J.P. South Carolina Pursuant to an Act of the General Assembly passed the 16th of March, 1783, We, the Commissioners of the Treasure, have this day delivered to Mr. Francis Green, this our Indented Certificate for the sum of ten pounds, eleven shillings and five pence sterling for seventy four days of militia duty in the year one thousand seven hundred an eighty.______ _______ Account audited. The said Francis Green, his Executors, Administrators, or Assigns will be entitled to receive from this Office the sum of fourteen shillings and nine pence half penny sterling on demand for one year's interest on the principal sum of ten pounds, eleven shillings and five pence sterling and the like interest annually by Resoln. Of Genl. Assembly 1783. The said Francis Green, his Executors, Administrators, or Assigns, will be entitled also to receive and shall be paid, if demanded, the principal sum of Ten pounds, eleven shillings and five pence sterling on the seventh day of June 1786. And the said Francis Green, his Executors, Administrators, or Assigns, may make any purchases at any public sales of confiscated property, (except such as shall be ordered by the Legislature for Special Purposes;), and this indent shall be received in payment. For the true performance of the several payments in manner abovementioned, the Public Treasury is made liable, and the Faith of the State, pledged by the aforesaid act. Given under our Hands at the Treasury Office in Charleston, the seventh day of June one thousand seven hundred and eighty four. I have purchased of Francis Green 6 beeves for 1750 for the southern army commanded by the Honourable Major General Green and at the prices fixed by resolve of the Continental Congress stated 25 February 1780 and received his 10th day of October 1781.
