Abraham Richardson my bounty and wagers which is one sound negroe for service ten months in Captn. Thomas Harvey's Troops of State Light Dragoons commanded by Lieut. Col. Samuel Hammond. As witness my hand John (his mark) Green Withness: John Hammond Please pay the within contents to James Neilson to whom I have assign all my rights, title and interest to the within indent and the interest due my, my heirs, Executors and assigns. Fourteen pounds sixteen shillings and five pence farthing Sterling. The public work within charged is not certified. Exd P. Mc July the 25th 1781 The Publick of South Carolina ____for shewing of horses to John Green _____ fifty two pair the making and driving at 16 shillings 3 pence a pair also nine the publick swords ____by order of General Andrew Pickens. Personally came John Green before me and made oath that the above account is true. Sword the 16th day of July. John Green ____ _____ Luckie, J.P. South Carolina Abbeville County Sept 29th 1785 I do hereby authorize and impower Archibald Hamilton to draw and receive my indent or indents with the interest due thereon, being for monies due me for services (or other wages) done to the Public of this state, according to returns made by Col. Robert Anderson into the Auditors Office. Given under my hand on the day and year above written. John Green I do hereby certify that the above named John Green did sign the above order in my presence. John Harris J.P. South Carolina Pursuant to an Act of the General Assembly passed the 16th of March, 1783, We, the Commissioners of the Treasury have this day delivered to Mr. John Green his our indented certificate for the sum of four pounds, five shillings and eight pence Sterling for 30 days militia duty in 1781 and 1782 part account audited. The said John Green, his Executors, Administrators or Assigns will be entitled to receive from the Office the sum of five shillings and eleven pence on the demand for one year' interest on the principal of four pounds five shillings and eight pence and the like interest annually. The said John Green, his Executors, Administrators or Assigns will be entitled to receive and shall be paid, if demanded the principal sum of four pounds, five shillings and eight pence on the second day of May ______. And the said John Green, his Executors, Administrators, or Assigns may make any purchase at any Public Sales of Confiscated Property, (except such as shall be ordered by the Legislature for Special Purposes;) and this indent shall be received in payment. For the true performance of the several payments in manner above mentioned the Public Treasury is made liable and the Faith of the State, pledged by the aforesaid act. Given under our Hands at the Treasury Office in Charleton, the seecond day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty five. John Wyla Rec'd 1781 one four year old stead the property of Capt. Jno. Green appraised at four Guineas for the use of the State of South Carolina. Richard Creech 5 Jan 1786 John Green for 36 weight pork, supplies to guard at Burton's ferry in Janry 1779, 80 ______ of bacon Do. In March 1779, and 2200 porck impressed by Capt. Richard for the use of his Company in April 1780 Sixty pounds, ten shillings and five pence Sterling NB: The rec'd for the first charge of seven pounds fourteen shillings 12 pence should have been signed by Capt. Jno. Weakley or Col. Benj. Jordan. The receipt for 2200 pork is in the name of George Beattie Sen. Endorsed to John Green. See attachment within. Exd. P. Mc Rec'd 5 June 1786 full satisfaction for the within in an indent, By order. John Green I understand by Capt. Smith that you are going to Charleston and be there by the 20th inst. I enclose you some certificates which I must beg the favor of you to take the best done with them you can and if any of them should not pay pray take care of them and return them and for all the trouble I will make you full satisfaction.
