McGalbraith) Charleston 24 April 1784 When by accot is audited please deliver an indent for the same to Mr. Wm. Graham who is hereby authorized to give and receive for the same. I am Gentm. Yr. Humble Servt. Joseph Green To the Commissioners of the Treasury Signed in the presence of ______ _______ Ross. South Carolina Pursuant to an Act of the General Assembly passed the 16th day of March, 1783, We, the commissioners of the Treasury, have this day delivered to Mr. Joseph Green, this our Indented Certificate for one the sum of one hundred ninety nine pounds, twelve shillings and two pence Sterling for monies _____ to T. Rutledge for purchasing provisions for Continental Service _____ in 1779. The said Joseph Green his Executors, Administrators or Assigns will be entitled to receive from this Office the sum of thirteen pounds, sixteen shillings and five pence on demand for one year's interest on the principal sum of one hundred ninety and nine pounds, twelve shillings and five pence and the like interest annually. The said Joseph Green, his Executors, Administrators, or Assigns will be entitled also to receive, and shall be paid if demanded the principal sum of one hundred ninety nine pounds, twelve shillings and five pence on the twenty third of April 1787. And the said Joseph Green, his Executors, Administrators or Assigns may make any purchases at any public sales of confiscated property (except such as shall be ordered by the Legislature for special purposes:) and this indent shall be received in payment. For the true performance of the several payments in manner above mentioned the public treasury is made liable and the Faith of the state is pledged by the aforesaid act.
