JAMES L GARY

James Leroy Gary, 72, of Newberry, died Thursday.  Born in Newberry County, he 
was a son of the late Tom and Maggie Wertz Gary.  He was a member of St. 
Matthews Baptist Church and a WW II Army veteran.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mattie Pearl Gary; a stepson, Marcus K. Turner 
of Newberry; daughters, Miss Rosa L. Gary of Atlanta, Mrs. Annie P. Brown of 
Columbia, and Miss Brenda Gary of Newberry; also, Gussie Johnes of Newberry; 
brothers, Amos Gary of Washington, DC, Tommy and Sam Gary of Newberry; 
sisters, Mrs. Louise G Clark of Newberry and Mrs. Maggie G. Brown, Mrs. Minnie 
G Henley and Mrs. Margaret G Kincaid of Washington and Mrs. Mabel G Young of 
New York; and grandchildren.
Plans to be announced by Wilson Funeral Home.
