Being weak of Body but of perfect Mind and Memory Blessed be God this Thirtieth day of March in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred & five, and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to Die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament as follows. First of all I Resign my soul into the hands of God who gave it nothing Doubting but that I shall Receive the same Again at the Great and Last day, and as for my body I Recommend it to the Earth to be Buried in a Decent and Christian Like manner at the descreation of my Executors and as for my Estate where with it has pleased God to bless me with in this Life - I give and bequeath in manner and form following - (that is to say) Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Ann Gilbert one third of my Estate both of land and movables after my Just debts are all paid and my body Buried During her Natural life or her Widowhood which commences first I mean one third of the land of the plantation whereon I now live the other two thirds of my land movables to Remain under care of my Executor undivided and unsold until my younger son Caleb Gilbert arrives at the age of Twenty-one years of age and then all is to be Divided Among all my Children, Thomas Gilbert, Lydda Chandler, Joseph Gilbert, Sarah McNeary, Syntiche Ragin, Caleb Gilbert, and Ann Gilbert-- and as Thomas has gotten little from me as yet it is my will and desire the he shall have fifty Dollars more than the others, and when my younger son comes of age then all my Estate to be Divided not Disposessing my widow of what I have left her as above and at her Death it to fall to them whos lot it may be-- and Thomas & Joseph to hold what they now possess untill the Divide is made, - and I do hereby constitute ordain and appoint Thomas Gilbert and Israel Chandler to be the Executors of this my last will and Testament authorising them to sell what they think fit in order to pay my Just Debts and also to take care that my widow makes no waste, and I do hereby Revoke and Entirely Dissanul all and every other Will & Wills whatsoever made by me Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament IN WITNESS whereof.
