All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/sc/scfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins October 15, 2003 Source: Newberry County Wills Written: January 22 1839 Will of Jane Rees January 22, 1839 In the name of God Amen I Jane Rees of the State of South Carolina and district of Newberry being in reasonable health of body and of sound and disposing mind and memory calling unto mind the uncertainty of life and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say: First I will order and direct that all my personal and real estate be sold as soon after my decease as practible on the usual credits and that out of the moneys ariseing there from my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid Second I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Isabel Senn the sum of twenty five dollars and to Rhoda Rees twenty dollars Third The balance of the paying off the above Legacy to be equally divided amongst my four daughters or their surviving heirs namely Mary McClung Elizabeth Murdock Jane Plunket and the heirs of Sarah Coppock and Solomon Coppock and Joseph Coppock And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son in law Hamilton Plunket my true and lawful Executor of this my last will and testament by me heretofor made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty second day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine and in the Sixty third year of the sovereignty and Independence of the United States of America Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared as and for the last will and her Jane x Rees testament of the abovenamed Jane Rees mark in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other save hereunto subscribed our names Robert Cleland James McClung Larkin Cleland Additional Comments: Jane (Murdock) Rees died in Newton County, GA, in 1844. Final estate settlement was made by Hamilton Plunkett in Newberry County in 1847.
