When a dam was built, the grave was moved to the Stamp Creek Church Cemetery,in Salem, GA. The original tombstone was taken to the dump and a new marker was placed on his grave. The old tombstone was found and rescued by one of his descendants. Jeffrey is the second of four generations of Jeffreys. He was married to Mary McDonald. They had 12 children: Jeffrey III,Solomon, Gideon, Isaiah, Miriam, Israel, Frederick, Arah, Rebecca, Samuel, Rucid and Sara Ann.
