Shelby Gibson Ables
   Seneca – Shelby Gibson Ables, 73, wife of Lane Billy Ables, of 247 J. Stone 
Circle, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Oconee Medical Center.
   A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur K. and 
Annie Sue Bowen Gibson.  Mrs. Ables was retired from J. P. Stevens where she 
worked as an inspector and instructor for over 30 years.  She was a member of 
Earle’s Grove Baptist Church and of the Jo Ann Smith Sunday School Class.
   Survivors in addition to her husband include daughters, Teresa Hicks and 
husband Terry of Westminster; Kay Timms of Fr. Myers, Fl; Renee Wooten and 
husband Jacky of Mtn. Rest; and Christiana Deanna Ables of the home; brothers 
Douglas and Tommy Gibson of Westminster; sisters Peggy Sheriff and Shirley White 
both of Seneca; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband 
Herman Timms and 2nd husband Carl Brown.
   Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, November 17, 2011 from Earle’s 
Grove Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
