Drive (NE) on Highway 93. In 1 mile turn right onto Cambridge Rd. Cambridge Rd turns into Old Shirley Rd. Continue to drive (SE) on Old Shirley Rd. Go under Duke Power high-voltage power lines. Drive another 0.2 miles (SE) on Old Shirley Rd. On left side will be a dirt road with a steel gate. As you face the gate, you will see a Communication Tower in the distance. It's near the power lines. Cemetery is 100' (N) of the tower and 100' into the woods. Sidney mcdow o----------o Jimmy Don Sheriff remembers this cemetery in the 1950s as having more tombstones. He relates that after the power line came through several of the tombstones were destroyed. Mr. Sheriff there was a McDow house on Old Shirley Road near the cemetery. He tells how Herman Werner, who lived on Werner Street in Central, would walk down Five Mile Creek, clean the cemetery and then walk back home.
