They also had a sister buried there: Lavonia Watt, b. 1855, d. 1899. Apparently she never married. I have visited the cemetery but am not sure hwy number. It is the main highway going north out of Pickens. By: Fred Stuart Fred, Your talking about highway 178 out of Pickens. I know the church your talking about as P124 Porter's Chapel Methodist. It's located on the left side of 178 at East Preston McDaniel Rd (S39-156) - 4 miles north of Pickens. I don't have a church history or cemetery recording for it. See http://www.usgwarchives.net/sc/pickens/cemeteries/p124/ The Old Pendleton District Genealogical Society's Cemetery Survey Book #2 says - Watt Cemetery - Take US178 north from Pickens to Midway Rd (39-34) on right - 3 miles north of Pickens. Grave is in field on the left, across from Midway Road Grocery Store, near intersection. I have yet to locate the grave that the OPDGS is talking about. Do you think that it might have been moved to Porter's? By: Paul Kankula o----------o I talked to a Watt man who is 73 years and lives at the Watt home told you about above 178 north of the creek going north from Pickens. He knew nothing of any Watt being moved but did say his grandfather lived across the road and north of him, which seemed to be between there and Hagood mill perhaps. If 73 he was b. ca 1934 and Samuel his uncle who never married d. 1925. The man who I talked with said his father died when he was real young. Seems Joseph Wilson Watt 1811/1884, wife 1821/1884 were his grandparents, Just guessing.
