Access to the cemetery is blocked by a locked metal gate. Call Curt or Elizabeth Fields at 864-878-4647 to obtain key to gate. Cemetery is located 0.5 miles beyond the gate. The dirt access road is not being maintained and is in nasty condition. Paint scratching raspberry bushes block the road in many areas. You should not drive down this road using anything but an old truck. Porter and Blanche B. Hannah Secona Baptist Body establishes P??? New Hope Baptist/1797-1818 leg P??? New Hope changes their name to P185 New Hope Independent Baptist/1818-1828 Antioch Body establishes P106 Mountain Springs Baptist/1830-1842 leg Antioch Baptist changes their name to Antioch Independent Baptist/1842- 1852 P106 Mountain Grove Baptist was the Union of New Hope Baptist and P184 Mountain Springs Baptist (It's unknown what the above dates actually represent) o----------o There is a granite marker in the front of the cemetery that says it was established in 1842 and that the Mountain Grove Baptist church erected the marker in 1990. There are 6 cement post that outline the boundary of the cemetery. It's unknown if this cemetery was the original Mountain Grove Baptist church location.
