CLERK OF COURTS OFFICE, PICKENS, S. C.
                                 Pickens County, S. C.
                                 Jan. 1st, 1869 
To the Honorable Board of Commissioners for Pickens County.

   The undersigned respectfully ask your honorable body the liberty to retail
spiritious liquors near King Mills.

                              Wm. Barton

   The undersigned recommend Wm. Barton as being a man in every respect suitable
to retail spirits.
