TAVERN LICENSE
CLERK OF COURTS OFFICE, PICKENS, S. C.

To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners for Pickens County.
   The undersigned most respectfully petition your Honorable Board for a license
to retail spiritious liquors at his bouse on Cedar Rock Road from old Pickens
for the term of four months from the 1 day of Jany 1869 and your petitioner will
ever pray.

   We the undersigned free holders most respectfully recommend Mr. John Howard
as a proper person to retail spiritious liquors at his home and that in our
opinion he will comply with the law in such case made and provided.
