CLERK OF COURTS OFFICE, PICKENS, S. C.

To the Board of County Commissioners for Pickens County.

   The undersigned petition your Honorable Board for a license to retail
spiritious at his house now occupied by him from the 1st day of November 1868 to
1st of May 1869 and your petitioner will ever pray.
Jany 19, 1869               Wm. L. Rogers

   We the undersigned Free Holders of Pickens County recommend William L. Rogers
as a proper & suitable person to retail spiritious liquors, and that he will
comply with the law in such case made & provided. Jany 19, 1869
