TAVERN LICENSE
CLERK OF COURTS OFFICE, PICKENS, S. C.

To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners of Pickens County.

   The Humble Petition of the undersigned, a Citizen of Pickens County in the
State of South Carolina, most respectfully petition your Honorable Board for a
Tavern License, to retail Spiritious Liquors at the house now occupied by him at
Pickensville and known as the Pickensville Hotel, situated at Pickensville. Your
petitioner is prepared to keep a Tavern, and is now keeping one, and has at
least two spare beds, and the necessary bedding, more than are required for the
family of the said applicant, are well provided with house room & stabling and
provender for four or more horses.

   We the undersigned Citizens and Free Holders residing in the neighborhood
where the said Thomas M. Welborne proposes to open & carry on a Tavern License
and we certify that the said Thomas M. Welborne is a gentleman of good repute
for honesty and sobriety, and is known to us to have in his Tavern at least two
spare beds, and necessary bedding, more than are required for the family of the
said applicant, and is well provided with house room, stabling and provender for
at least four or more horses. April 30, 1872.
