Sutherland & James Keith Release for acres land State of South Carolina Pickens District This indenture made and entered into this the twelfth day of November in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty between Jacob Chastain of the one part William Sutherland and James Keith of the other part _____ sells that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and twenty five dollars to me in hand paid by said Sutherland and Keith the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and released and conveyed unto the said Sutherland & Keith all my claim and interest in two tract of land the one part containing two hundred and seventy acres originally granted to George Hudson the second day of April seventeen hundred and ninety eight situated lying and being in originally Pendleton District now Pickens District on Water of Woolenoy creek waters of Saluda River bounded by lines running SE and NE by said George Hudson land all this sided by vacant land. The other tract containing one hundred and forty eight acres situated lying and being in originally the Distric of ninety six now Pickens District on Canock? creek waters of Woolenoy creek waters of Saluda River commencing on a stake NE 60:50 thence to post oak thence to 12:10 N 50 to ____thence to a post oak S 8:10 W 19 to a red oak S 72 E 65 Spanish oak S 13 last post oak E 60 to stake S W 10:14 to a pine S 43 E 35 to a post oak thence to the beginning stake. To have and to hold all and singular the wrights members and appertenances the _____ ongoing or in anywise appertaining thereunto their heirs and ____ in fee simple and the said Jacob Chastain will warrant and forever defend the wrights _____ members and appurtenances to the said Sutherland and Keith against the wrights _____ claims or claims of any and all other persons whomsoever with the exception of so much as he's been conveyed to John Steel by George Hutson from the Hutson Survey. Also so much as he's been conveyed by said George Hutson to Edward Chastain. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and subscribed my seal the day and date above written. His Test J. B.
