PACK. 182 DEED TO 811 ACRES 
CLERK OF COURTS OFFICE, PICKENS, S. C. 

THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
   Know all men by these Presents, that I, John B. Clayton, assignee of Thomas
D. Garvin of Pickens District in the State aforesaid, in consideration of Fifty
Dollars and fifty cents to me paid by Thomas J. Keith do grant, bargain, sell
and release unto the said Thomas J. Keith all Thos. D. Garvins interest, to All
that Piece, Parcel or Tract of land situate, lying and being in the State and
District aforesaid on Devils Fork waters of Keowee River containing according to
the plat annexed to the original grant Eight hundred and eleven acres,
originally granted to Jeremiah Field and Fred'k N. Garvin on the third day of
December One thousand eight hundred and thirty two. The form and boundaries of
which will more fully appear by reference to the said original Grant and the
Plat thereto annexed. Together with all and singular the Rights, Members,
Hereditaments and Appurtenances to the said premises belonging, or in any wise
incident or appertaining. To have and to hold all and singular the premises
before mentioned, unto the said Thomas J. Keith, his Heirs and Assigns forever.
And I do hereby bind myself, my Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, to warrant
and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Thomas J.
Keith his Heirs and Assigns, against myself and my Heirs lawfully claiming or to
claim the same, or any part thereof and against no other person whatsoever.
   Witness my Hand and Seal this twenty seventh day of January in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine and in the Eighty third year
of the Independence of the United States of America. Signed, Sealed and Delivered

   Pickens  District)   Personally appeared before me W.  M. Hadden and made
oath that he saw J. B. Clayton sign, seal and deliver the within Deed of
Conveyance, for the use and purposes therein mentioned, and that J. J. Norton
together with said Deponent, was a subscribing witness thereto.
