Willard to Henry Chastain The State of South Carolina Know all men by these presents, that I W. O. Willard of Pickens County in the state aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid of and before the sealing of these presents by W. O. Willard in the State aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold and released, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and release unto the said Henry Chastain, all that certain piece, parcel or tract of land situated in the Town of Liberty, Pickens County, South Carolina. It being lot No. 82 in the plot of said Town adjoining lands of Geo. E. Robinson, W. _. Chapman on west by 3rd Street in the north by lands of T. _. Hunter. The said lot containing 147 rods more or less. Together with all and singular the Rights, Members, Hereditaments and Appurtenances to the said Premises belonging, or in anywise incident or appertaining. To have and to hold, all and singular the said Premises before mentioned, unto the said Henry Chastain his Heirs and Assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself and Heirs, Executors and Administrators, to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Henry Chastain, his heirs and assigns, against me and my heirs, and any person whomsoever lawfully claiming, or to claim the same, or any part thereof. Witness my Hand and Seal this 3rd day of Feb. in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six and in the one hundred and 19th year of the Soverignty and Independence of the United States of America. Willard did this day appear before me, and upon being privately and separately examined by me, did declare that she does freely, voluntarily, and without any compulsion, dread or fear of any person or persons whomsoever, renounce, release and forever relinquish unto the within named Henry Chastain, his heirs and assigns, all her interest and estate, and also all her right and claim of Dower of, in or to all and singular the Premises within mentioned and released.
