Robert G. "R.G." Dodson 
Robert George Dodson beloved husband of Martha Gertrude McClain Dodson passed
suddenly September 25, 2009 at his home in his 74th year. 

Loving father to Martha Lynne Dodson of the home, brother to Hovey Dodson 
(Elizabeth) of Norris, Coy Dodson (Anna Laura) of Greenwood County and Keith 
Dodson of Pickens. Mr. Dodson was born in Pickens County to the late Claud W. 
Dodson and Essie Pilgrim Dodson. In addition to his parents he was preceded by 
a son George Wayne Dodson, brother Harold Dodson Sr. and sister Floree Dodson 
Holden.

Mr. Dodson retired after 32 years of service from Bin Swanger Glass Company
where he was a cost clerk. He was a member of the Pickens County Historical 
Society, Old Pendleton District Genealogy Society, honorary member of Clan
Maclean International, honorary member of Clan MacBubba, U.S. Army veteran and 
was a Protestant.

Additional Comments:
Past President of Old Pendleton District Genealogical Society.

Personally recorded 12,245 Pickens County Tombstone Inscriptions for published 
OPDGS Cemetery Survey Books. His last recording effort was the helping with the 
recording of Black Cemeteries in Pickens County.  In total, probably recorded 
over 13,000 tombstones during his lifetime...
