L. Osborne ccheek@carol.net Pickens Sentinel Newspaper, October 24, 1992 Obituary of Loe P. Smith, Pickens - Loe Pace Smith, 81, of 435 Carrol Lane, wife of Ernest B. Smith died at 4.45 PM Friday, October 23, at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born in Pickens County, the daughter of the late Richard Frank and Corrie Jones Pace. She was formerly employed with Cannon Memorial Hospital and Easley Baptist Hospital (now The Baptist Medical Center) as a practical nurse. She was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church where she was a member of The T. E. L. Sunday School Class. Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons Alvin C. Smith of Easley and Jerry B. Smith of Pickens; three daughters Mrs. Adrian (Sue) Childs and Mrs. Glenn (Martha) Banks both of Pickens and Mrs. John (Bobble) Pace of Lexington, North Carolina. Also surviving is a brother Ivy Pace of Easley, a sister Emma Forister of Easley; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 3 PM Sunday at Crescent Hill Baptist Church by Reverend Fred Sanford and Dr. Ray Allen with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens. The body is at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home. The family is at the home of a daughter Mrs. Martha Banks, 212 Crescent Hill Drive, Pickens.
