Contributed to The SCGenWeb Archives by: Dolores Pringle ********************************************************************** Pickens District, South Carolina The Will of Elisha Alexander is recorded in Book 1 on page 17, on September 10, 1832 Last Will and Testament of Elisha Alexander August 8th, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty two--Know all men by these presents that I, ELISHA ALEXANDER being of sound mind do now bequeath First as follows to my beloved sons ELIJAH, THOMAS and DANIEL that part of my track of land situated on Crow Creek which lies above the still house branch & joins the land of DANIEL ALEXANDER, SENIOR. Secondly, I bequeath to my beloved sons GEORGE WASHINGTON and ELISHA the balance of said track lying below said branch on Crow Creek & joining to PRYIOR ALEXANDER's land on which my dwelling house now stands. 3'd I also bequeath to my beloved son ELISHA a negro man named BOB, age fifteen. 4th I do also bequeath to my beloved wife NANCY one negro girl named MILLY-- which she is to keep her life time & at her death said negro gorl with her increase is to be sold & the money equally divided mong my children & and I also bequeath to her my dwelling house & and a maintenance out of that part of said plantation willed to my two sons GEORGE WASHINGTON & ELISHA together with the household and kitchen furniture & a certain bay horse called Bill and all my stock of hog and cattle, of which stock that may be on hand at her death with the household & kitchen furniture must be sold and devided equally among my children & that she have out of the present crop what will be sufficient for her support & and after taking out the fifth of the whole crop which is the share of my son-in- law HENRY GROGAN. I desire the balance to be sold and applied to the payment of my just and lawful debts. 5th I wish the negro woman called ESTHER and her four children named as follows, viz.-JESS RICHARD GEORGE & LUCINDA be sold & the proceeds of the sale applied to the payment of my just and lawful debts & if there be any remaining after the debts are paid I wish it divided equally among my children- and that I certify that this is my last Will and Testament.
