Will of James Parsons Will of James Parsons October 25, 1855: James Parsons Pack. 120(Equity) Clerk of Courts Office, Pickens, S.C. The State of South Carolina (Will) In the name of God Amen. I James Parsons calling to mind the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life do make and appoint this my last will and testament viz. First, I will and desire that my just debts be paid by my executors. Second, I will and bequeth to my beloved wife Maria L. Parsons during her natural life or widowhood the home tract of land on which I now live containing two hundred and fifty acres, more or less, commencing at the Stake corner between me and Eneas Hunter thence a straight line near East to a Maple corner thence a Straight line near East East to a Rock corner between me and D. Grice then following the line between me and D. Grice to J.C.C. Parsons land, one two horse wagon and harness one Mule called Rube and one Horse called Ball, Four horned cattle of her own selections. Two stock Sows to be selected by me executors, and also all the wheat, corn, oats, fodder and provender on the place at this time also all the meat now killed, also my negro boy Joe and Caroline, also all the household and kitchen furniture, also that she has the Sole right of diposing of all the property she brought here, as she may wish. And the said property herein before given to my beloved wife, she is to have during her life and widowhood and after her death or marriage to be sold by my executors and equally divided amongst my children each according to what they have recieved heretofore. Forth, I give to my beloved wife Maria L. Parsons all the ready money I may have at my death to be delivered to her by my executors. Fifth, I appoint my two sons Samuel Parsons and J.C.C. Parsons my Executors to carry this my last will and testament into affect.
