LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF STEPHEN YOUNG, COPIED FROM PICKENS DISTRICT WILL BOOK NO. 1; ORIGINAL WILL AND ALL PAPERS LOST I, STEPHEN YOUNG, of the District of Pickens and State of South Carolina, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, do constitute and ordain this my last will and testament. First, I will my Soul to my God and my body to the dust. I will all my Effects that I am in possession of both real and personal to my wife REBECCA to be at her good will and pleasure for the support of my dear children and to be divided amongst them as she can & wishes to spare it. I will to GIBSON PORTER the use of that part of my land that I have counted off to him which my wife REBECCA is acquainted so long as he conducts well and agreeable with his mother and the rest of my children. I wish in my last will that my wife REBECCA sell to the best advantage such property as she with the advice and counsel of my friends and Executors, besides, be best sparred and settle all my just debts with that of my funeral Expenses & of committing my body decently to the grave if their should be any; and I do constitute and ordain my dear wife and BAILEY BARTON my true and lawful (Executors) to act for me after death; this is my will and my wish.
