All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/sc/scfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in SCGenWeb Archives by: Pat Cribbet, © 2004 Will of William Scott In the Name of God Amen I William Scott of Richland County do make and appoint this to be my last will and testament -- that is to say first after all of lawful debts are paid I do give unto my beloved wife one third part of my estate real and personal during her life and after death to be equally divided amongst all of our children and all the remainder of my estate I wish it to be equally divided amongst all my children and as I have already give the Riverswamp tract of land unto my sons William Scott and Samuel Scott to be equally divided between them and all my Pinewoods land on the Northeast side of Tom’s Creek I have already given to Samuel Scott and I do wish all those lands to be appraised by proper persons and to be counted in as part of their portions and all the Negroes that any of my children has already received of my estate I wish them to be appraised and to be counted as part of their portion -- and as I have paid to Elizabeth Dinkins at divers times the sum of five hundred dollars I wish that to be counted as part of her portion -- and all Negroes that any of my children do now hold that was my property or do hereafter receive of my estate I do wish them to be entailed to them and their lawful heirs -- and as for my executors I do appoint my sons William Scott and Samuel Scott to be executors of this my last will and testament as witness my hand and seal this twentieth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six and the Thirtieth of American Independence.
