MOUNT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, Roebuck, Spartanburg County, South Carolina For name searches of this index, use the "Find" or "Search" feature of your browser. This reading of Mount Zion Baptist Church was done by Betty Jean Foster Dill and Lynn Sellers. As of August, 1997, the name gathering was pretty much finished. They do want to walk the cemetery at least once more to make certain that no graves were missed. Some of the inscriptions have proved very difficult to read. Betty Jean plans to go back again and attempt to get the full inscription from these stones if possible. (EDITOR’S NOTE: I have left in the partial inscriptions and the questionable dates. Perhaps someone out there has the information needed to make a complete transcription from the illegible stones. Anyone with additional information can contact Pam Reid---pamreid@ix.netcom.com) This list is done in semi-alphabetical order. The cemetery is badly planned and there is no way to read it in rows or any other systematic way. All of the names in any given plot have been left together. J.
