Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Peggy Thompsen (PThomp9719@aol.com) 22 Jan 1999 ---------------------------------------- (original spelling retained in transcription) p.210 No. 206 Bridges ARENDLE to Thomas HIGS 6th February 1815 State of South Carolina Know all men by these presents that I, Bridges ARNOLD of Spartanburgh District and state aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to me paid by Thomas HIGS of said state and district have granted, bargained, sold and released and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell and release and to the said Thomas HIGS a certain tract or parcel of land situate in said state and district beginning at a pine Charles HECTOR’s(?) corner running N40E42 to a red oak GORDON’s corner thence N80E42 to a post oak thence N46E 6 ch. to a pine thence N70W23 to a red oak John ARNOLD corner thence with said line about 6 chains to a pine STANDLEY corner thence E 35 to a red oak thence N15W14S 50 to a stake in STANDLEY’s old field thence 6 chains to a rock thence S14W53 to a pine in the old said line thence on with the said line to the beginning by computation two hundred acres more or less together with all and singular rights, members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the premises before mentioned unto the said Thomas HIGS his heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said HIGS, his heirs and assigns forever against myself, my heirs or any other person or persons claiming the same or any part thereof.
