To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting: Know ye, that for and in
consideration of seven pounds sterling money paid by David Brewton into the
Treasury for the use of this state, we have granted, and by these presents
do
grant, unto the said David Brewton his heirs and assigns, a plantation or
tract of land, containing three hundred acres situated in the Ninety Six
District on the small branches of Ferguson's Creek waters of Tyger River,
having such shape, form and marks as are represented by a plat hereunto
annexed, together with all woods, trees, waters, water courses, profits,
commodities, appurtenances and hereditaments whatfoever thereunto belonging,
to have and to hold the said tract of three hundred acres of land, and all
and singular other the premises hereby granted unto the said David Brewton
his heirs and assigns for ever, in free and common soccage.  Given under the
Great Seal of this State.  Witness his Excellency William Moultrie, Esquire,
Governor and Commander in Chief in and over the said state, at Charleston,
this seventh day of November Anno Domini, One Thousand Seven Hundred and
Eighty Five and in the tenth year of the independence of the United States
of
America.

by Ephraim Mitchell, Surveyor-General, 13th January 1785.
