The parcel is "part of the plantation that above Robinson now lives on," identified further as part of a North Carolina survey and part a South Carolina survey granted to Wells Griffith. Witnesses are Casandra Gray, Elizabth Robinson, and Curtis Gray. Deeds of Spartanburg County, South Carolina Deed Book G, pages 360-361 Zacheriah Robinson to John Gray Deed 27th November 1801 No. 263 State of South Carolina Know all men by these persents that I Zacheriah Robinson of Spartanburgh County in the State aforesaid for and in consideration of five pounds to me in hand paid by John Gray of the County and State aforesaid have granted bargained and Sold released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said John Gray and make a lawfull right to a certain parcell of land Situate lying and being in the County aforesaid containing five acres more or less and bounded as followeth to wit beginning on a post oak bush thence ___ N. W. nigh as can be computed without a compass to a red oak corner thence North ___ as nigh as can be computed without a compass to a Spanish oak thence to a red oak thence to a post oak thence to a post oak bush thence to a red oak thence to a Stake corner thence No East as near as can be computed without a compass thence to a post oak thence to a Spanish oak thence to a post oak near a Stake corner including the head of the Spring branch with all the land Joining said Grays own lines and lands to the beginning. Together with all and Singular all the rights members, hereditaments and appertainances to the said premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and Singular the premises before mentioned unto the said John Gray his heirs and assigns for ever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors administrators to warrant and for ever defend all and Singular the said Premises unto the said John Gray his heirs and assigns against my self my heirs Executors Administrators or assigns or any person or persons whomsoever claiming the same. Witness my hand and Seal this twenty Sixty day of April one thousand Seven hundred and ninety six and in the twentiety year of the Independance of the United States of America.
