The land is identified as one half a tract granted to Henry Robertson, Sr., deceased, and James Byars. Deeds of Spartanburgh County, South Carolina Deed Book F, pages 160-161 Nathaniel Robertson and James Byars to Raydick Arnold Deed October 26th 1798 This Indenture made this fourth day of February in the year of Lord Christ One thousand Seven hundred and ninety three between Nathaniel Robertson and James Byars planters of the ____district of Pinckney State of South Carolina of the one part Raydick Arnold of the County of Spartanburgh and district aforesaid of the Other part Witnesseth that the Said Robertson and Byars hath for and in Consideration of the Sum of ten pounds Sterling Money to them in hand paid the Receipt and payment Whereof is hereby acknowledged them the Said Robertson Byars, hath granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and Sell unto the Said Raydick Arnold his heirs and assigns a Certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Spartanburgh State of South Carolina and on the waters of Mickes (?) Containing one hundred and forty three and a half Acres--being the one half of a Certain tract of Land laid out and granted to Henry Robertson Senior Deceased and James Byars this said one half lyeth Joining William Tales line including the Improvements Where said Robertson lived in his lifetime and Where said Raydick Arnold lived at the Same time Which Improvements Joined Said lands Extends toward William Byars for Complement as far as a Certain dividing line made by Vardey McBee betwixt William Byars and said Arnold and has such shape and form as the plat for said land represents Patent dated the first day of January One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty seven To have and to hold the Said one hundred forty three and a half Acres of land with the appurtenances to the said Raydick Arnold his heirs and assigns With all and Singular the Rights titles Interest Claim and ______ of the Certain Mentioned premises and the appertenances and any part and parcel thereof with the Revertion and revertions Remainder and Remainders and _______ profits and advantages of or in to the _______ belonging with their appertenances to the Said Raydick Arnold his heirs and assigns and the said Nathaniel Robertson and James Byars doth hereby for themselves their Heirs Executors administrators to promise Covenant and agree that the aforesaid One hundred and forty three and a half acres of Lands and Premises With the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said Arnold his heirs or assigns and we the said Robertson and Byars will warrant and defend by these presents against us and our heirs or assigns only will defend and that by these presents according to the true intent and meaning of these presents in which whereof we have hereunto Set our hands and affext our Seals the day and year first above written.
