Know all men from these presents that William Roberson for and in 
Consideration of the Sum of five Hundred dollars to me in hand paid 
by John Roberson have bargened and Sold unto the Said John Roberson 
a Negro woman Known by the name of Priz and her Child named Jetney 
which property I do by these presents warrant and forever defend 
from the lawfully claim of any person or persons whatsoever  
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my 
seal the fourth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand 
Eight hundred and three.

Curtis G. Gray

Personally appeared John Lancaster before me the subscribing 
Justice and duly made Oath that he saw William Roberson sign 
Seal and deliver the within bill of Sale for the use and purposes 
within mentioned also that he Saw Curtis Gray Subscribe his name 
as a witness to the Same  Sworn to and Subscribed to this 4th September 1803--
