Deeds of Spartanburg County, South Carolina Deed Book G, pages 346-347 Nathaniel Robertson and James Byras to William Byras Deed 9th November 1801 No. 253 This indenture made the fourth day of February in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and ninety three between Nathaniel Robertson and James Byras of the District of Pinckney State of South Carolina of the one part and William Byras of the County of Spartanburgh and District aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Robertson and Byras for and in consideration of the sum of twenty three pounds Sterling money to them in hand paid the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged the the said Robertson and Byras hath granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said William Byras his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcell of land lying in the County of Spartenburgh State of South Carolina and on the waters of Mile Creek containing one hundred and forty three and a half acres being the one half of a certain tract of land laid out and granted to Henry Robertson Senior deceased and James Byras. this said half lyeth Joining Daniel McCla___ and Samuel ______ line including the improvement where said Byras Lived and where said William Byras now lives which improbvements Joined said Land extends toward Arendells Land for complement as far as a certain dividing line made by Vardey McBee betwext Raydick Arendell and said Byras and hath such shape and form as the plat for said land represents patent dated the first day of January one thousand Seven hundred and eighty seven to have and to hold the said one hundred and forty three and a half acres of land with the appurtenances to the said William Byras his heirs and assigns with all and Singular the right title Interest claim and demand of the within mentioned premises with the appurtanances and every part and parcell thereof with the Reversion and reversions remainder and remainders and all rents Issues profits and advantages of or into the said premises belonging with their appurtenances to the said William Byras his heirs and assigns and the said Nathaniel Robertson and James Byras doth hereby for themsselves their heirs executors administrators doth promise covenant and agree that the aforesaid one hundred and forty three 1/2 acres of land and premises with the appurtainances thereunto belonging the said William Byras his heirs or assigns and we the said Robertson and Byras will warrant and defend by these presents against us and our heirs or assigns only will defend and that by these presents according to the time intent and meaning of these presents in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our Seals the day and year first above written.
