B. SKALOWSKI, father of MR. RUDOLPH SKALOWSKI of this city and his little grandson were thrown from a street car in Augusta Tuesday Night and painfully injured. Louis Connert, age 5, fell from a belt line trolley car near the exposition curve. They were riding backwards on the front seat of an open car. The car is said to have been running at a very rapid rate. FALLS HEIR TO PROPERTY HELEN BURTON of Tocoa , Ga. who is suppose to be living at present in one of Spartanburg's mill villages comes into possession of considerable property, so reports Chief of police HALL from S. WALTERS of Madison, SC. She was married and living in this county but not known to whom. MR. WALTERS is willing to pay for any information leading to her discovery. UNION COUNTY LUKE SCOTT ATTEMPTS SUICIDE LUKE , a young white man living at the Exceisor Knitting mill , drank a bottle of laundaum on Tuesday. DR. J.H. MONTGOMERY , the physician was called about an hour after the poison was taken, his young life was saved. MR. T.D.G. GREGORY had the misfortune to get his left leg broken about half way between the thigh. He attempted to separate two yearlings that were fighting, on a steep hill. One of the yearlings forced the other down the hillside and against Mr. Gregory knocking him down. DRS. MONTGOMERY and SARRATT set the broken bone. CLINTON NEWS MISS JOSIE PRATHER has gone to Darlington to accept a position with the Darlington Press. REV. C. FOWLER is conducting a revival meeting at the Bapt. ch.-Whitmire this week. REV. P.A. PRESLY of Gainsville, Ga. will also do the preaching. Clinton is becoming quite a city with it's paved streets and buildings rapidly progressing. The Pres. Ch. has just recently added electric lights to it's auditorium. MR. J.R. MURFF, a young pharmacy has resigned his position as clerk, and MR. L. MACK KENNEDY of Clinton is now with the pharmacy. MR. E.T. COPELAND has accepted a position with the telephone co. THE DANCE AT RAVADSON HALL The young men of the city gave a delightful dance Tuesday evening at Ravadson Hall. SIMMONS of Enoree was among the visitors seen in the streets yesterday. R.V. LANFORD came over from Hobbysville yesterday. H. FRANCE who was lately transfered from the city to Charlestown , is spending two weeks with his family on Lee Street. F.B. WOFFORD of Pacolet was in the city yesterday on his campaign for the office of county supt. of education. F.W. BOYLE of Greenville is registered at the Spartan Inn. W.B. KELLER of Yorkville, spent night in the city. R.E. HANNA from Enoree was in town yesterday. G.H. SLATEN of Orby, is in town on business. THOMAS STROUD of Cross Anchor made a visit to the city yesterday. F.E. WATKINS of Anderson was register at the Spartan Inn last night. THOMAS RICHARDSON returned to the city from a visit to relatives in Abbeville. J.W. WEEKS of Glen Springs was in the city yesterday. DEATH OF MRS. JONES CREATED SENSATION Union July 9. - The sudden and tragic death of MRS. W.T. JONES at her home in Santuc Sunday night was a great shock to the people of that community. A warrant was issued on Thursday for the arrest of MR. JONES, charging him with the muder of his wife by poisoning and Deputy Sheriff EMMETT SANDERS went down on the noon train to execute the warrant. He brought MR. JONES to Union. He said MR. St. MISSES AGNES & NANNIE RAVENEL are visitng their grandmother in Calhoun.
