Spartanburg Paper
     WELLFORD - Carrie Brown Avery, 80, of Route 2, Moore Street, widow of 
Thomaws Avery, died Sunday.
     Native of Spartanburg County; daughter of the late James and Lula Brown; 
retired Startex Mills; member of the Startex Church of God.  
     Surviving:  one son, five daughters, one sister, 29 grandchildren; 
29 great grandchildren.
     Services 2 Wednesday at Wood Mortuary by the Revs. Jimmy Alman, A.B. 
Reaves; burial in Wellford Baptist Church Cemetery.
     Pallbearers:  Leyroy and D.P. Phipps, Jr., Billy McCullough, Pete 
Campbell, Terry Emory, Doug Hooper.
