Spartanburg Paper
     Thomas Avery, Jr., 68, of 5621 Parris Bridge Road, died Feb. 20, 1996, in 
Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a long illness.  
     A native of Conestee, he was the son of the late Thomas Avery, Sr. and 
Carrie Brown Avery.  He attended the Church of God and was an electrician with 
Ivey Electric. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
     Survivors include his wife, one daughter, one son, three sisters, five
grandchildren and great-grandchild.
     The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Seawright Funeral 
Home. 
     Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, 
conducted by the Revs. Jimmy Hixon, Jimmy Alman and Dr. Paul Phipps.  Burial 
will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.
