Bishop October 1997 South Carolina Spartansburg District Kown all men by these presents that I Eli Bishop of State & District above written- being in feeble health but of Sound and deposing Mind Memory and understanding, do make and adopt this my last will & testament. 1st. I will that my body be decently buried. 2nd. I will that all my Just debts be paid. I will that all my property and Estate of what kind so ever including monies on hand or debts due or here- after to become due to Me, in my own right and now in my possession, also a balance of My interest in my fathers Estate now in the hands of My Brother George B. Bishop, administrator of my father E. L. Bishop, Decd. This amt also I desire to be paid into the hands of My wife Frances Bishop all My property and Effects as above Mentioned Shall be and remain in the possession of my Wife for her use & benefit provided she Shall Maintain & Support & keep my four Children now living with her, Viz William, Milton, John, and Mary - Whic four children I desire to remain with my wife and the Whole as a family to have the benefit of all My Estate, Subject to the management & control of My wife who is hereby authorized to Continue in possession of all my property, collect all debts due me or which hereafter become due or in anywise liable to be Claimed by me Either in Law or equity. She is hereby authorized to Sue for & Collect as Executrix or adjust any dues which may remain unpaid. I desire that no administration be granted but tht my wife of her own will & pleasure act in premises for the benefit of herself & my four Children above named her acts and deeds to be Valid to all intents & purposes as though I had been living and transacted the Same Myself in person. In witness wereof in the presence of Gabriel Cannon, Robert L. McMillan & David M. McMillin who are all present and by my request & in my presence and the presence of each other have attested the Same- I do sign and declare this my last Will & Testament the 10th day of June 1858.
