I Michael Moore, Merchant, of the District of Spartanburgh and State of South Carolina, being sick and weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, praised be God for the same, do make and declare this my last will and testament, in manner and form following; that is to say, after all my Just debts and funeral expenses are paid, I give to my dear and loving wife Winifred S. Moore, one third part of my real Estate forever. The remaining part of balance of my Real Estate, I give to my four beloved children, to them and their Heirs forever, Namely Adeline Moore, John Moore, Mary B. Moore and Alfred L. Moore, to be equally divided between – I give to my aged and infirm Mother, three hundred dollars, to be raised from the debts due my Estate, and to be paid to her in such articles as she may require, subject neverthelefs to the discretion of my Executor herein after to be named – I give to Polly McHugh, one bed, bedstead and furniture, one Cow and Calf, and fifteen dollars worth of other articles that she may stand in need of, subject neverthelefs to the discretion of my Executor – Also I give to my wife Winifred S. Moore, to her separate use and benefit forever, the balance of an account due me by the firm of Dillard Son and Company, of which firm I am a partner. I also give to my said wife, the whole of what Corn, Wheat, flour, Bacon and other provisions I may be pofsefsed of at my decease --- All the remainder or balance of my personal Estate, not otherwise herein before disposed of, I give to my said Wife and four children, to be equally divided between them. In order that I may be the more perfectly understood in the disposal of my personal Estate, last above mentioned, I give to my Wife Winifred S. Moore, one fifth part of my said personal Estate forever Also I give to my daughter Adeline Moore, one fifth part of my said personal Estate, to her and her Heirs for ever – Also I give to my Son John Moore, one fifth part of my said personal Estate to him and his Heirs for ever – Also I give to my daughter Mary B. Moore, one fifth part of my said personal Estate to her and her Heirs for ever Also I give to my son Alfred L. Moore, one fifth part of my said personal Estate, to him and his Heirs forever – It is my desire that my family may live together, on the Lands which I may die pofsefsed of, and that whatever is raised on the farm should go towards the support of said family – And I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint, my dear Uncle John Moore of Rutherford County and State of North Carolina my Sole Executor to this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills and testaments at any time heretofore by me made; and do declare this to be my last will and testament. And I do hereby vest a full and descretionary power in my said Executor, to manage and transact the businefs of this my last will and testament; as he may think most advantageous for the benefit of my wife and children, both as to the division of said property, and future management of the money for my children, and the Sale of any of the property that he may think it necessary to make for the purpose of a division among the Heirs or otherwise --- In witnefs whereof I the said Michael Moore have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty-third day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty-six.
