Bright HOOTEN, of Sumpter Co., SC; to W. W. HILL of Hyde Co., NC-land of father 
Caleb HOOTEN, in Beaufort Co., NC.
15 Sept. 1823

Know all men by these present that Bright HOOTON of Sumpter County, South 
Carolina have this day bargained and sold unto W. W. HILL of Hyde County, NC all 
my  right, title and Interest to a certain piece of undivided land - known by 
the name of fork plantation lying in Beaufort County between South Creek & Bonds 
Creek formerly the property of my father Caleb HOOTEN for One hundred & Twenty 
Dollars the receipt of which I do hereby acknowledge & I the sd. Bright HOOTEN 
do covenant and agree that I am seized & possessed of a good & sufficient right 
to my dividend or portion of sd. the divided Land as one of the lawful heirs of 
Caleb HOOTEN and I do hereby warrant and defend sd. dividend or portion against 
myself and the lawful claims of all person whatsoever in Testimony whereof. I 
have here unto affixed my hand & seal this 15th Sept. 1823.

Then was the execution of the foregoing deed proved before me in due form of
