Thomas Ray) Union County, South Carolina Probate Court Box 45, Pack 6, Date 1862 Last Will and Testament ...I Thomas Ray Senr. ...my executor shall hand over to the official members of the Baptist Church at Padgets Creek...Three Hundred Dollars to be expended as the church at that place may think proper. ...that my sister, Mrs. Judith Gibbs shall, if she survives me, shall have Two Hundred Dollars in cash...all which may be left at her death to go into the hands and for the benefit of her daughter Ireeny Fant. ...I wish that my negroes to be appraised in families- this far at least- say the husband & wife with all their children of twelve years of age and under; and the weomen, having no husbands here, with their children of twelve years of age and under; and I wish for my children or grandchildren to have the privilege of taking my negroes at the appraisement...
