Deeds of Union County, South Carolina Book B, page 14 Hezekiah Gentry to James Hogan This Indenture Made this Eighth Day of August in the Year of Lord Christ One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Six and in the the tenth year of American Indepency.  Betwen Hezekiah Gentry and Catarine his wife of the State of South Carolina and County of Edgefield of the One part and James Hogin of Said State and County of Union of other Part.  WITNESSETH that the said Hezekiah Gentry and Catarine Gentry for an in consideration of the sum of One hundred Pounds sterling to them the Said Hezekiah and Catarine Gentry in hand well and Truly paid by the said James Hogin at and before the Ensealing and Delivering of these presents the Recept whereof is hereby acknowledged and he the Said Hezekiah and Catarine Gentry his wife hath bargained and sold and by these presents Doth bargain Sell and Deliver unto the Said James Hogan all that Plantation or Tract Land Containing one hundred and Ninety Seven acres and a half situate in Union County in the fork between  Broad and Tygar Rivers on a branch of Tygar River called Bogans Creek bounded Southwardly on Land granted to G. Hollingsworth the Above Land was granted to the said Hezekiah Gentry by the honourable William Moultier Esquire Governor and Commander in and over the state of South Carolina Bearing date the fifth Day of June Ano. Domni. 1786.  And in the tenth year of American Independence.   ____ said one hundred and Ninety six and a half acres of Land Together with all and singular the woods under woods Timber and timber Trees Meadows Pastures Ponds Lakes fishings ways watercourses Passages Liberties Privileges gardens Orchards Profits Hereditaments Rights and appertenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the Said Land and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues Profits thereof and every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the Said plantation of Land Containing one hundred and Ninety seven and half acres of Land with all and every of the premises and appertenances there unto belonging unto the said James Hogan his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever and I the said Hezekiah and Catarine Gentry will forever warrent and Defend the Said Land unto the Said James Hogin his heirs Executors administrators and assigns fromthe Claim Challenge and Demand of him the said Hezekiah Gentry his heirs Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever.  IN WITNESS whereof the said Hezekiah and Catarine Gentry have hereunto Set Their hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written.
