Deeds of Union County, South Carolina Book D, page 48 Elizabeth Hogan (James R.'s land) to Henry Smith THIS INDENTURE Made this twenty eight day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Ninety one and fifteenth year of American Independance Between Elizabeth Hogan of Union County and State of South Carolina of the one part and Henry Smith of Yourk County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Elizabeth Hogan for and in considration of the sum of Twenty pounds Sterling lawful money to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Henry Smith at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged she the said Elizabeth Hogan hath bargained and sold and by these Presents doth bargain, sell, enfross, convey and confirm unto the said Henry Smith and his Heirs and assigns forever all that message or tract of Land containing or lying and being in the County of Union and State aforesaid Thicketty creek containing one hundred and twenty eight acres be the same more or less originally granted to James Roberson by his Excellency the govenor of South Carolina.  Bounded on the South by Moses Waters land on the east by Lewis Sanders on the west by Joshua Petty's on the north by part of the same survey with their and every of appurtenances situate lying and being as aforesaid with the building improvements and and every of their rights members and appurtenances whatsoever and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders of all and singular the said lands and tenements hereby granted or intended to be granted and every Part and parcel thereof all rents issues Profits claims or Demands whatsoever of her the said Elizabeth Hogan into or out of the said Premises or tract or 128 acres as aforeaid and every of the Premises unto the said Henry Smith and to his heirs and assigns for ever the aforesaid tract or parcel of land containing aforesaid with their rights members and appurtenances whatsoever without any manner of hindrance or Incumbrance to alter change or determine the same and also that the said Henry Smith his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter peaceable and Quietly have hold use occupy and enjoy the said Plantation or tract of land containing as aforesaid without any manner of trouble Hindrance molestation or denial of her the said Elizabeth Hogan from herself or her heirs or assigns of all and every of them and Lastly the said Elizabeth Hogan from herself her heirs Executors Administrators or assigns will warrant and for ever defend the aforesaid tract of land containing 128 acres more or less unto the said Henry Smith his heirs and assigns forever.  In witness whereof the said Elizabeth Hogan hath here unto set her hand and affixed her seal the day and date above written.  Signed sealed and Delivered in the presence of us: Jas. Terrell Solomon Mangham Hezekiah Terrell          Elizabeth (her X mark) Hogan State of South Carolina, Union County: This day personally appeared before me Hezekiah Terrell and being duly sworn as the law directs and saith that he did see Elizabeth Hogan Sign Seal and deliver the within piece of conveyance to Henry Smith for the use within mentioned and also saith that he did then and there see James Terrell and Solomon Mangham Sign their Names as Concurring witnesses also.  Sworn and Subscribed before me this 11th day of August 1792.  Hezekiah Terrell Wm.
