Deeds of Union County, South Carolina Book A, page 519 Mathew and Susannah Roberson to John Waters 1786 South Carolina, Union County:  This Indenture made on the tenth Day of March in the Year of Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Six and of the Soveranity and Independence of the United States of America the tenth Between Mathew ROBERSON of the State and County Aforesaid of the One part and John WATERS of the Same place of the Other part.  Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of five Shilings Sterling to the Said Mathew Roberson in hand paid by the Said John WATTERS well and Truly paid and at or before the Sealing and Delivering of these the Receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents doth Grant bargain Sell unto the Said John WATTERS all That and Those the plantation Or Tract of Land whereon the said John WATTERS now lives Situate lying and being in the County Aforesaid On both Sides of Thickety Creek being the west End of a Tract of 400 Acres of Land granted Honas BALUM from under the Great Seal of North Carolina and from Honas BALUM Conveyed to Jacob WIDENER and from Jacob WIDENER Conveyed to David ROBERTSON Now Deseased and from David Robertson  Deceased as heir at Law to the Said David Robertson Deseased Containing one hundred and thirty three acres and one third of an acre and is bounded by Part of the Said Land to the East now the property of Thomas WRIGHT and to the North by lands granted to James ROBERTSON and to the West by Lands of John NUCKOLS (Deceased) and to the South by Vacant Lands; Together with all and Singular the houses Outhouses Edifices Buildings Orchards Guardens Lands Meadows Commons Trees Ways Wells Balers Waters Courses Lights Easements profits Comodities Emoluments and Herididaments whatsoever to the Said plantation or Tract of Land Containing one hundred and thirty acres and one third belonging Or in any wise Appertaining or which Now are Or heretofore hath been Taken known Reputed Had Occupied Onjoyed as part parcil or as members the Same plantation Or any Part thereof and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and profits of all and Singular the Said premises and every part and parcel thereof with Their appertenances to have and to hold the Said plantation Or Tract of Land and premises aformentioned and by these presents hath bargained and sold and every part and parcel Thereof with the appertenances unto the said John WATERS his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns from the Day next before the Day of the Date of these presents for and During the full End and Term of One Whole Year from the next Ensuing and fully to be Compleated and Ended Yielding and paying one pepper corn at Or before the last day of Said term if the Same be Lawfully Demanded To the Intent that by Virtue of these presents and by force of the Statete made for Transfering uses into possession of force in South Carolina the  Said John WATTERS may be in Actual possession of all and Singular the premises above bargained and Sold with the Appurtenances and be thereby Enabled to Eccept and Take a grant and Release of the Reversion and Inheritance to him and his heirs forever to the only proper Use and behoof of him the said John WATTERS his heirs and assigns forever.  In Witness Whereof and to these presents The said Mathew Roberson and also Susannah Roberson his Wife Their hands and seals have jointly and interchangeable Set the Day and Date first before Written. Mathew (his T mark) Roberson Susannah (her X mark) Roberson Sealed and Delivered in presence of us:  John Thompson Joshua Petty Recieved on the Day of the Date of the within Lease of and from John Watters the sum of five shillings it being the Within Consideration I Say Received by me. Matthew Roberson Test:  John Thompson, Joshua Petty Deeds of Union County, South Carolina Book A, page 521, 1786 Mathew and Susannah Roberson to John Waters State of South Carolina, Union County:   This Indenture made on the Eleventh day of March and in the year of Lord One Thousand Seven hundred And Eighty Six of the Soveranity and Independence of the United States of America the Tenth Between Mathew Roberson of the State and County aforesaid of the One part and John Waters of the Other part.  Witnesseth that the said Mathew Roberson for and in Considration of the Sum of One hundred and Eighty pound Sterling to him in hand by the Said John Watters well and Truly paid At or before the Sealing Or delivering of these presents the Receipt and payment is hereby acknowledged and Thereof of and from every part and parcel Thereof doth agree Release and Discharge him the Said John Watters his heirs Executors and administrators forever and by these presents hath granted Bargained Sold Aliened Remised Released And Confirmed and by these presents doth Grant bargain and Sell Alien Remise Release and Confirm unto the Said John Waters in his actual possession Now being by Virtue of a bargain and Sail thereof to him made for One Whole Year by indenture of Lease bearing Date the Day next before the Day of these presents and by force of the Statute for Transfering Uses into possesion of force in South Carolina and to his heirs and assigns forever all that and those the plantation Or Tract of Land whereon the Said John Watters now living Situate lying and being On both sides of Thickety Creek being a part of a Tract of 400 acres Granted to Honas Balum from Under the Great Seal of North Carolina and Conveyed from Honas Balum to Jacob Widener and from Said Widener to David Roberson Desceased.
