Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Lorene Rambo (Hocott@aol.com) August 20, 1998 ---------------------------------------- 1792 John Rob*son sells his grant to Robert Cook Deeds of Union County, South Carolina Book C, page 289 THIS INDENTURE made this Seventeenth day of November in the year of Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety two, Between John Robinson of the State of South Carolina and County of Chester of the one part, and Robert Cook of the same state and County of Union of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said John Roberson for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds Sterling to him in hand paid by the said Robert Cook the receipt whereof the said John Roberson doth hereby confess and acknowledge, that he the said John Roberson, doth well bargain and alien ____ and confirm unto the said Robert Cook his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever, one certain tract of land situate in County of Chester on the Water of Broad River on the North side of said River.  Butting and bounding as follows viz.  Beginning at a pine Running So. 64 W. 35 Chains to a stake thence So. 54 E. 45 Chains to a post oak, thence No. 33 E. 58 Chains to a Red Oak, thence No. 2 W 7 Chains to a Red Oak thence No. 57 W. 13 Chains and 50 links to a Spanish Oak, thence No. 76 W. 26 Chains to a Hickory Thence to the BEginning, Containing Two hundred and Twenty four Acres be the same more or less Together with all Houses, fences, Orchards gardens woods ways water and water Courses thereon standing and being, and all profits commodities advantages and appertenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said Robert Cook his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever, To have and to hold possess and enjoy the said granted land and premises, and the appertenances, free and clear from all former sales, gifts grants mortgages rights of dower or any other Incumbrance whatsoever, and further the said Robert Cook, his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever against all and every other person, whatsoever, that shall lay any Claim or claims thereunto. In Witness whereof the said John Roberson, hath hereunto sett his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.  Intestined in word before signed. Granted to John Robinson by Patten, which will more fully appear by the original Platt.
