Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Lorene Rambo (Hocott@aol.com) 9 Oct 1998 ---------------------------------------- 1812 James Robertson sells 50 acres, property of his father Matthew Robertson, dec.,  to Robert Moorehead Deeds of Union County, South Carolina Book M, page 77 State of South Carolina, Union District Know all men by these presents that I James Robertson of state and District aforesaid in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by Robert Moorehead of the state and district aforesaid have granted bargained sold Released and by these presents do grant bargain Sell and release unto The said Robert Moorehead all that tract or parcel of land containing of fifty acres, lying and being in the state aforesaid, bounded by land of Nicholas Curry's formerly the property of James Robertson on Matthew Robertson and William Moorehead land laid off by Josiah Patty containing fifty acres all situate on the south side of Thickety Creek it being part of his legacy fell to him by his father Matthew Robertson deceased.  Together with all appurtenances thereunto belonging or any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and Singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Robert Moorehead His heirs and assigns forever, and I do hereby bind myself my heirs Executors and assigns to warrant and forever defend all and Singular The said premises unto the said Robert Moorehead his heirs and assigns  And against myself my heirs and against all and every person whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof as witness my hand and seal this fifteenth day of February 1812 in the thirty fifty or sixth year of Americans Independency. Signed and delivered  James Robertson In the presence of: Joseph Rankin & William Moorhead South Carolina, Union District Willial Moorhead Senior came personally before me and Being sworn sayeth he saw James Robertson sign the within Deed of conveyance for the purpose therein mentioned and also Saw William Moorehead Junior.  also Joseph Rankin sign as witness with Himself.
